Welcome to the Seeing Goodness Project!
Goodness, kindness and love are all around us - more present than we are aware. There are tools and practices that can help us to learn better to see goodness. By developing ourselves, we are more likely to recognize our internal goodness, and more likely to act with kindness, more likely to be love and loving with others. One goal here is to heighten our awareness of these wonderful expressions and moments in this world so that we transcend our current behaviors and filters, evolve and replicate that goodness more readily and with greater frequency.
You're new here. So are we. Although this project's seeds were planted more than 15 years ago, the time to germinate is now. Now really is all we have. So while we can, let's look to see how to make "now" more magical; let's honor and amplify the magic within us.
Learning to see better takes understanding, awareness, education and discipline. Seeing is not just done with our eyes. Other ways of seeing require our observation skills, heightening our senses, tuning into our intuition, allowing our minds to make some connections and, perhaps, to eliminate other associations. Of course, we also welcome compassion, and exploring and honoring that which we find in our hearts. Over time, we will add tools and discussions noting how or where we can improve these skills.
We chose Seeing "Goodness," because goodness incorporates kindness and even love. Truth be told, we thought about changing to "kindness," but some other people have a site similar to Seeing Kindness. Goodness includes some thoughts and deeds not often associated with kindness. Tough love is a prime example. Sometimes it doesn't seem so kind at first glance; but tough love manifests goodness, and is born from love or compassion.
Unfortunately, the term goodness implies that there can be something bad. The goodness we associate on this site is not meant to be a comparative term. Goodness doesn't make us better. It simples helps us to shape good things, actions, expressions. More on that in a note to come.
