I'll light the fire
You place the flowers in the vase
That you bought today...
Life presents us twists and turns, hills, valleys and straightaways. Seeing Goodness on Clubhouse took a detour for a couple of weeks. (I was giving full attention to the MBSR Foundations course, as part of my journey toward MBSR teaching certification.) We're back on live tonight at 7 pm EDT.
While we were away Clubhouse converted our "club" to a "house" named Seeing Goodness. For now, we have another house named "Grit, Gratitude and Seeing Goodness." Tonight we're going to meet in the new one simply named "Seeing Goodness."
You might find the "furniture" rearranged a bit. After allowing five minutes for everyone to join, we'll begin a meditation promptly at 7:05 PM. Although we've introduced a few different types of mediations before, we haven't clearly articulated why we might choose one style over another.
Tonight we'll very briefly brush upon two or three categories of mindfulness meditations: focused attention and open awareness. One involves more doing, more re-directing; the other more observing, more being. Different people derive different types of benefits from each. Over the next few weeks we'll share opportunities to explore them.
As many of you may know, a short while after Seeing Goodness began, one of our other favorite Clubhouse groups transformed into a wonderful app, the Pause Breathe Reflect App. (In addition to its rich content, Pause Breath Reflect (PBR) also offers live Zoom meditations five days a week.) The Sangha (or strong sense of community) is still clearly evident throughout PBR.
Some Clubhouse friends also continued to find a strong sense of community in our Seeing Goodness gathering - especially as we chatted before all of our previous meditations. We'll still offer community chat – only after a bit of meditation and reflection first. We're stoking the flames of the Seeing Goodness fire and renewing our commitment to our original mission: to focus on the practice of seeing the goodness, kindness and love both in the world and within ourselves. Along the way, we know we'll cultivate more goodness for ourselves and for others. More goodness will help to heal the world. We believe our mindfulness practices and compassionate actions help in healing the world and making ourselves a healthier whole.
"Believe" is not strong enough. We know.
Please feel free to join us.
Such a cozy room
The windows are illuminated by the evening
Sunshine through them, fiery gems
For you, only for you

Our house is a very, very, very fine house (fine house)
With two cats in the yard
Life used to be so hard
Now everything is easy cause of you
